Koi Carp Pond and Decking/Pergola
Newly built Koi Carp Pond using 8x2inch tanalised joists made into three frames and then fixed together.
A polystyrene base was put in first and then a pond liner afterwards.
The water was put in before finally stapling the liner to the edges and
finishing off the top surround with 6x2inch tanalised joists, mitred at the corners and fixed into place.
Two notches one larger than the other for outlet of hose for pump and pump cable were incorporated
before fixing down the surround.
The decking surrounds the end of my own property.
This was done a few years ago now but is added to and changed constantly.
Dead spaces can be utilised by constructing decking on top of uneven and even
sloping surfaces that would otherwise never be considered as sitting areas.
This is especially the case if you have a hill garden like we do. Open up your own garden by doing likewise.
Hill Garden Decking and Pergola
This decking and pergola were constructed on a very steep hill garden.
The terrace was already there but was uneven and not compacted very well.
The retaining sleepers were bulging and ugly. In all the space was unsafe for use.
The space was fairly unusable as an area for sitting and admiring the beautiful view.
A framework was constructed using 6x2 tanalised joists and then 4x4 posts were cemented
in place and the frame was lifted and bolted onto the posts.
Decking was laid and the posts became an integral part of the railings and pergola once cut to length.
The pergola struts were shaped and fitted next.
A hand rail was then fitted and panels with square spindles were constructed and fitted in between the posts.
Finally a feather edge board fence was incorporated on the pergola for privacy and a feather
edge board frontage was used to cover the ugly sleepers.
I think you will agree, what a fantastic view can now be enjoyed while having a BBQ and drinks.
Approximate total cost march2008 £1,700.00.
Split Level Decking leading down onto Lawn
Very large decked area on two split levels enabling the user to combine two unusable areas into one.
The flow of the deck allows the user to walk out of the conservatory and walk around to the car parking area with ease.
Balustrade Seating Area on top of a Garage
This bespoke balustrade was constructed to create a seating area on top of an otherwise
wasted piece of space on top of a garage. Cost: Variable with price of timber.

Decking
This was constructed in a very uneven space where the customer was unable to use any of the space adequately.
By constructing the decking on a level with the shed door opening a completely useless space has become a
fantastic space for BBQ's and entertaining.
The final product will have trellis under the handrails and will be stained and treated for a minimal extra cost.
